Not sure yet if or when I'm going to go through the process of upgrading it. The last upgrade included a version of udev that broke my access to the external RAID storage, and I had to back it down.
Also, I think Apache 2.4 is standard on this one, and I'm not sure if mod_perl plays well with that yet.

I've upgraded the version of PHP on the server to the newest version (5.4.16), and have also made some changes to the site's underlying PHP/Perl framework and CSS. This was to fix a problem with how the site would render on Safari. I had never tested the site on Safari until recently, and wasn't aware that it rendered improperly. The site should now look right on Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Chrome.

Upgraded PHP and Apache recently. I'd like to move on to Apache 2.4, but mod_perl does not appear to support it yet. And I like using mod_perl. Hopefully it will be supported on Apache 2.4 soon.

Now running Slackware 14.0... sort of

I've upgraded the system to Slackware 14.0. Almost everything seemed to work except for the external USB RAID array, which the system would no longer recognize. The following errors were generated in /var/log/messages, over and over and over again:
usb 1-1: device descriptor read/8, error -110
usb 1-1: device descriptor read/64, error -110
I tried different kernel versions, I tried different kernel options, I tried different power settings, I tried all sorts of things, but nothing would fix the problem. Finally, I rolled back udev from 182 (packaged with Slackware 14.0) to 165 (packaged with Slackware 13.37), and the problem went away.
So, now we're running Slackware 14.0, except that we're running an older udev package so that we can mount the RAID array.
Also, Apache has been upgraded to 2.2.23, and PHP has been upgraded to 5.4.9. I saw that a new version of mod_perl was available as well, but every time I tried to include it, it would crash httpd. So I'll have to figure that one out later. For now, we'll just run plain old regular Perl CGI for the things that need it.

I installed the latest version of Apache this past weekend, which included all of the newest bugfixes. Everything seems to be working well post-upgrade.
